This article is about the municipality in India. For its namesake district, see Panipat district. For the film, see Panipat (film. Panipat ( pronunciation   ( help info. is a historic city in Haryana, India. It is 90 km north of Delhi and 169 km south of Chandigarh on NH -1. The three major battles fought near the city in 1526, 1556 and 1761 were all turning points in Indian history. The city is famous in India as the "City of Weavers" and "Textile City. It is also known as the "cast-off capital" due to being "the global centre for recycling textiles. 2] History Panipat district was carved out from the erstwhile Karnal district on 1 November 1989. On 24 July 1991 it was again merged with Karnal district. On 1 January 1992, it again became a separate district. According to the legend, Panipat was one of the five cities (prasthas) founded by the Pandava brothers during the times of the Mahabharata; its historic name was Pandavaprastha ( Sanskrit: पाण्डवप्रस्थ, lit. city of Pandavas) Panipat was the scene of three pivotal battles in Indian history. Panipat is first recorded in the Mahabharata as one of the five villages that the Pandavas demanded from Duryodhana. The five villages are the "panch pat" Panaprastha (now known as Panipat) Suvarnaprastha (now known as Sonipat) Indraprastha (now known as Delhi) Vyaghraprastha became Baghpat (now known as Baghpat) Tilaprastha (now known as Tilpat) The First Battle of Panipat was fought on 21 April 1526 between Ibrahim Lodhi, the Afghan Sultan of Delhi, and the Turko-Mongol warlord Babur, who later established Mughal rule in Northern Indian subcontinent. Babur's force defeated Ibrahim's much larger force of over one lakh (one hundred thousand) soldiers. This first battle of Panipat thus ended the 'Lodi Rule' established by Bahlul Lodhi in Delhi. The Second Battle of Panipat was fought on 5 November 1556 between the forces of Akbar and Hem Chandra Vikramaditya, a Hindu King of Delhi. [3] 4] Hem Chandra, who had captured states like Agra and Delhi defeating Akbar's army and declared himself as independent king after a coronation on 7th Oct. 1556 at Purana Quila in Delhi, had a large army, and initially his forces were winning, but suddenly he was struck by an arrow in the eye and fell unconscious. On not seeing him in his howdah on the back of an elephant, his army fled. Dead Hemu was carried to Akbar's camp where Bairam Khan beheaded him [5] His head was sent to Kabul to be hanged outside Delhi Darwaza, and his torso was hanged outside Purana Quila in Delhi. The place of martyrdom of Raja Hemu is now a famous shrine in Panipat. The Third Battle of Panipat was fought on 14 January 1761 between the Maratha Empire and the Afghan and Baloch invaders. The Maratha Empire was led by Sadashivrao Bhau Peshwa with Dattaji shinde Dattaji and the Afghans were led by Ahmadshah Abdali. The Afghans had a total strength of 110, 000 soldiers, and the Marathas had 75, 000 soldiers and 100, 000 pilgrims. The Maratha soldiers were unable to get food because of non-cooperation of other empires of Hindustan (India and Pakistan were not separated) and this resulted in having to eat the dead in the battle field to survive. Both the sides fought their heart out. The Afghans were supported by Najib-ud-Daula and Shuja-ud-Daula for the supply of food, and the Maratha had pilgrims along with them, who were unable to fight, including female pilgrims. On 14 January, over 100, 000 soldiers died resulting in the victory for the Afghans. A few months after the third battle of Panipat, Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao died of shock. [1] 6] However, after the victory, the Afghans facing a hostile North India, retreated to Afghanistan to avoid casualties. This battle served as a precursor for British Empire to establish Company rule in India as most of North and Northwest Indian princely states were weakened. [7] Geography Panipat is located at 2923′N 7658′E  /  29. 39N 76. 97E. [8] It has an average elevation of 219 metres (718  feet. Demographics As per 2011 census, the city had a population of 294, 292. [1] Panipat's urban agglomeration had a population of 295, 970. The literacy rate was about 83. 9] Landmarks Hemu's Samadhi Sthal The wounded Hemu was captured by Shah Quli Khan in the Second Battle of Panipat and carried to the Mughal camp at Shodapur on Jind Road at Panipat. [10] According to Badayuni, 11] Bairam Khan asked Akbar to behead Hemu so that he could earn the title of Ghazi. Akbar replied, He is already dead, if he had any strength for a duel, I would have killed him. After Akbar's refusal Hemu's body was denied honour by the Mughal battle tradition and was unceremoniously beheaded by Bairam Khan. Hemu's head was sent to Kabul where it was hung outside the Delhi Darwaza while his body was placed in a gibbet outside Purana Quila in Delhi to terrorise his supporters, who were mainly his subjects, both the Muslims and Hindus. [12] Ibrahim Lodhi's Tomb It was one of Sher Shah Suri s dying regrets that he could never fulfill his intention of erecting a tomb to the fallen monarch Ibrahim Lodhi. Much later, in 1866, the British relocated the tomb which was just a simple grave during construction of the Grand Trunk Road and added a platform to it with an inscription highlighting Ibrahim Lodhis death in the Battle of Panipat. [13] 14] 15] Babur's Kabuli Bagh Mosque The garden of Kabuli Bagh along with the Kabuli Bagh Mosque and a tank were built by Babur after the First Battle of Panipat to commemorate his victory over Ibrahim Lodhi. Some years later when Humayun defeated Sher Shah Suri near Panipat, he added a masonry Platform to it and called it ‘Chabutra" Fateh Mubarak, bearing the inscription 934 Hijri (1557 CE. These buildings and the garden still exist under the name of Kabuli Bagh called so after Babur's wife – Mussammat Kabuli begum. Kala Amb According to tradition, the site 8 km from Panipat and 42 km from Karnal, where Sadashiv Rao Bhau commanded his Maratha forces during the third battle of Panipat was marked by a black Mango Tree (Kala Amb) which has since disappeared. The dark colour of its foliage was probably the origin of the name. The site has a brick Pillar with an iron rod and the structure is surrounded by an iron fence. The site is being developed and beautified by a society presided over by the Governor of Haryana. Panipat Syndrome The term ‘Panipat Syndrome‘ has entered the lexicon as the lack of decisive action, preparedness and strategic thinking by Indian leaders thus allowing an invading army to enter well inside their territory, which was based on the defeat of the Marathas by the Afghans at the Third battle of Panipat. It was coined by Air Commodore Jasjit Singh. [16] 17] 18] 19] Connectivity National Highway 44 (India) is a major road network that connects Panipat to Grand Trunk road network. A grossly inaccurate version of history which over glorified the Marathas and villainize's the Muslims. Aap Isi Tarha True stories k Video Banate rahiye Allah aapko Jazai Khair De Love From India ♥️. A very no silly approach to filmmaking for this genre. There is no doubt that Sanjay Dutt is outstanding, but Arjun Kapoor is not bad at all.

India have rich history of Muslims. But Bollywood always denies it. I am not saying to make Muslims hero. All I want is if want to make movies based on history, you have to tell the truth. Or if you don't like the history of your interested 'topic' make a fiction.

In the recent past there have been a lot of history based movies which are sort of worst examples of how can cinematic additions over power and deviate the film from the historical base. Panipat surely has cinematic additions but Gowariker nicely keeps the balance. Panipat trailer. Panipat war 1.

My reaction through the trailer. Panipat war 2. All in all a great example of how an history movie should be. Must watch. Abdali was great. Panipat is a 2019 Bollywood historical drama, helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The film is based on on the Third Battle of Panipat which was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies-the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh. Set in 18th century India, Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Panipat' begins with a glimpse into the valour of Sadashivrao Bhau (Arjun Kapoor) commander-in-chief of Maratha army as he tactfully defeats the Nizam of Udgir. On returning back to Pune after the victory, Nana Saheb Peshwa (Mohnish Bahl) showers him with praises. Meanwhile.

S. Agrawala [1] writes that Panini mentions in category of villages ending prastha. In Pali text Prastha denotes a place outside the grama, a waste land not used by men either for ploughing or sowing. It may be noted that places ending with the Prastha (Hindi=pat) are confined mostly to Kuru Country, such as Panipat, Sonipat, Baghpat, Tilpat etc. and to the region of Himalayas watered by Ganges. Panipat was one of the five cities (prasthas) founded by the Pandava brothers during the times of the Mahabharata; its historic name being Panduprastha. Panipat was the scene of three pivotal battles in Indian history. The first battle of Panipat, fought in AD 1526 in which invader Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodhi, the Sultan of Delhi, on April 26. In the second battle of Panipat, on November 5, 1556, Akbar's guardian Bairam Khan defeated the Hindu ruler Hemu. Ahmad Shah Abdali, the Afghan ruler defeated the Marathas in the third battle of Panipat that took place on 13 January, 1761. Today Panipat is an industrial town and is known for its handloom products. The district headquarter is situated in Panipat town. Other smaller towns are Samalkha, Israna and Naultha. The total area of Panipat district is 1, 754 sq km and its population is 8, 33, 000. Ibrahim Lodis tomb: This king who was defeated by Babur in 1526 in the first battle of Panipat, lies buried here within a tomb. His grave is a simple affair; just a rectangular block on a high platform approached by a flight of steps made of lakhori bricks. The tomb was renovated by the British in 1866. In Mahabharata It was one of five villages demanded by Pandavas. Mahabharata tells that When Pandavas were defeated in chausar they were forced to leave the state for 13 years. During most of this time, they lived at place called Varnavata (modern Bairat) in Jaipur district in Rajasthan. Having lived there for pretty long time, the Pandawas sent a message to the Kauravas that they won't lay their claim to the throne if they were given just five villages. These 5 villages were: Indraprastha (इन्द्रप्रस्थ. Indarpat. Purana Kila ( Delhi) Panaprastha (पणप्रस्थ. Panipat. Haryana Sonaprastha (सोणप्रस्थ. Sonipat. Haryana Tilaprastha (तिलप्रस्थ. Tilpat. Third Battle of Panipat - A Mystery Revealed Notable persons Smt Manju Kadian - Elected as Parshad of Ward No. 14 Panipat. Deeer kha love from Afghanistan 🇦🇫🇦🇫🇦🇫🇦🇫. There are few weaknesses as well. I think the story should have been wider. The plot mainly focus on the Bhau and Parvati. However, there were other legends in the plot who do not get any attention.

Panipat full movie hindi. Of course one may miss the Ranvir of Baji Rao but then again, not that much as the overall filmmaking and war scenes are a spectacle to behold. Panipat review. Panipat movie wiki. The limits have changed…till last year the maximum daily riding limit for BOP was a maximum of 350 kms but this year we have re-defined the limits…we have done even 550 kms in a day…that was from Mcleodganj to Gurgaon…this ride was going to be a little different as we wanted to enjoy a relaxed ride and do at the most 300 kms in a day…so we decided on the destinations as Nahan, some 280 kms from Gurgaon and it is also the hometown of our BOP rider Tomar so we didnt have to scout for the route maps or staying options, Tomar planned everything for us…Nahan is a quite-little place some 17 kms from the Haryana-Himachal border and nestled in the foothills of Himachal… Not many riders signed up for this ride though which was a little sad as Nahan is so close to Delhi and we wanted to make it a big ride but still it was good fun…read on for the Nahan Nunchuks magic… The Nahan Nunchuks were: 1. Dips on his Black 4S Electra 2. Ajit on his Blue TB 3. Manji on his Silver 5S Electra 4. Tomar on his Red 4S Electra 5. Vihans on his Orange FZ-16 6. Che on The Mighty One Day 1(19-Sep-09) Gurgaon – Murthal – Shahpura – Kala Amb – Nahan – Dadaahu Due to the Offisial Atyachaar Event and the beer session I slept very late and woke up 30 minutes later than the planned time and reached the Gurgaon Rendezvous point later…the second time I turned up late ever for a ride…Tomar, Ajit, Vihans & Dips had already reached and I really felt bad on making them wait…we all reached the Landfill Site on NH-1 where Manji was waiting for us, we had some really awful tea and started the ride…I was really feeling sleepy and the hangover was hitting me badly…we stopped for the breakfast-break at the Ahuja Dhaba for a sumptuous meal of Paranthas, Dahi & Tea…it was thoroughly enjoyed and we started the ride again…the plan was to stop at a Theka some 80-90 kms later but I got a call from Dips at 9:30 AM that he had a rear tyre puncture and told us to wait, all this time Tomar was with him thats why we didnt go back…we waited at a Dhaba for some tea and Sutta…Dips & Tomar came at 11 AM and then we made our next planned stop at a Highway Theka near Shahbad…a long BBB session followed and some chilled beer & pics later we were up & running again for the last leg towards Nahan… External image The heat was really bad and when we hit the Haryana-Himachal border we had to wait at a railway crossing for some 30-40 minutes in excruciating heat and loads of dust…the wait was endless indeed…but after that the solace was some 20 kms of Hill Riding from Kala-Amb to Nahan where we reached at 2 PM and straight went to Tomars Home…please note Tomar would be henceforth known as Kunwar-Ji due to his mighty standing in the Nahan District…everybody knew him there and the rest of us also got extra attention due to his special stature. We had been invited to Kunwar Jis home for lunch by his mother…and boy-ohh-boy what a meal it was…gastronomical delight…she had made a special Himachali Dish for us and that tasted superb… External image After the heavy(really heavy) meal we left for Dadaahu where we were to stay overnight…its some 35 kms from Nahan and is an even sleepier town… En-route we stopped at a Waterfall which was beautiful and was very high…we could actually see the mouth of the waterfall and decided to trek towards it…I gave up midway as the uphill stairs were too much for me and I just didnt have any strength left to reach the top and came back to the base but Kunwar Ji, Dips & Manji made it to the top and had a great time there, surely after the tough trek it was a beautiful sight… External image All this while me, Vihans & Ajit kept biding away our time doing some good-hearted Bakchodi while sitting on the road…we all reached Dadaahu at 6:30 PM and were to stay at the Government Rest House where Kunwar Ji had booked 2 rooms for us…but the biggest surprise was coming our way…No Smoking & Drinking in the premises…that was a shocker for all of us and one which he had hidden from us all this while. We entered with a heavy heart, rested for a bit and after weighing all the options decided to go outside for a BBB session at an Ahaata – I am sure all Gurgaon people would know what an Ahaata is. External image I decided to catch up on some sleep and joined the guys later at 9 PM…it was badly needed as I had just slept for 4 hours the last night…I reached the Ahaata where the Bakchodi Session was in full flow, we finished the drinks session and went for dinner to a quaint looking restaurant where the food was OK to say the least…didnt enjoy it one single bit and went back to the rest-house disappointed… All-in-all a great day…Breakfast @ Murthal (sounds like Breakfast at Tiffanys. riding in the heat, theka session, the sumptuous lunch at Kunwar Jis Home, the Ahaata BBB Session & the not-so-good dinner later we all called it a day and slept as some really tired-riders. Day 2(20-Sep-09) Dadaahu – Renuka Ji – Jammu Koti – Dadaahu – Nahan It was going to be a relaxed day and we all woke up gingerly amidst some bright sunlight…nothing like the misty-mountain mornings one expects in the hilly areas…it looked like a Gurgaon Morning scene to me. very sunny & warm…we were all ready and raring to go by 9:30 Am…the next stop was a small-little breakfast joint where Kunwar Ji once had a meal some 4-5 years back…we all followed him and reached the place…a heavenly setting indeed…nice-fragrance of fresh Chhole, a river flowing just beneath us and a very quiet place…and the food was even better…one of the best breakfasts I ever had in my life… External image After the dream breakfast our next stop was the Renuka Ji Temple, Lake & the Zoo… External image We decided to take our bikes inside as walking was not much of an option due to the heat…stopped first for the customary bike-lineup pics… External image And then for the best sight of them all…the lion enclosure…where one lion & 3 lionesses were roaming around frantically…growling away to glory…maybe they wanted to get into some raunchy acts of their own but for the boundary…their grunts were really scary and scared the shit out of us inspite of the very high boundary…we enjoyed the classic sights and it was the first time I was up-close & personal with the King of the Jungle…a mighty sight indeed…there were also 8-9 black bears in their enclosure playing in the water pond…the next stop was the Leopard enclosure but there was no sight of the beast…we all decided to go near the room and peeped through the windows of a dark room and bingo…with our camera flash guns we could sight the leopard resting inside and looking gingerly at us…he obliged us with some close camera shots… External image External image Kunwar Ji, Manji & Vihans then went to seek the almightys blessings at the Renuka Ji Temple and the rest of us found a Machaan/View Point site where we were to engage in the next BBB session…it was overlooking the lake and the lions roars were still audible in the background…a great place for the BBB session… External image We had real great fun and then Kunwar Ji came up with an idea to enjoy some off-roading fun enroute to Jammu Koti which was some 40 kms away…we were all game for it and went ahead…and what a road it was…or should I say what a non-road it was…pure off-roading with no trace of tar, loads of stones, mud & slush…a crazy high for any rider worth his salt…halfway into that ride we realized that Ajit was nowhere to be seen and when we called him he said he was stuck with his gears not working and there was no way that he could ride uphill on that crazy road…we all were really sad as we badly wanted to reach the mountain top but had no other option than to go back…but for some good measure Dips brought out the bottle of Rum which was soon gulped away by Kunwar Ji & him… External image Sadly we started the downhill ride and met Ajit where he was waiting for us…his gears were completely stuck and he was riding in the 4th gear continuously…but the tough rider he is, he never flinched even once and kept fighting on…I was leading the pack and then stopped at a Theka for another BBB Pit-Stop. Sadly Kunwar Ji didnt drink any beer as he had to visit his home at Nahan; he was surely looking very frustrated & flustered…one can imagine his plight… External image We reached the Nahan Rest-House and took some much-needed rest, Tomar went to his home and then came back to join us…we all went to the only Bar in Nahan – The City Heart Bar. One dingy place…the kinds bars must be…not the lush & posh Lounge Bars one gets to visit in Gurgaon…there were couple of local drunkards who joined us and we all engaged in some good-hearted Bakchodi…Ajit was more than interested in one of them. Just to mention it was the first time BOP were at a Bar…by now you know how much we engage in alcoholic fun but had not visited a bar together…this was history-in-making for us. External image We reached the hotel at 12 and then slept away to glory after enjoying another fun-filled day…the best breakfast I had, crazy off-roading fun, 2 BBB Pit-Stops, the first BOP Bar session and the Wildlife Fiesta…the day had it all… Day 3(21-Sep-09) Nahan – Panipat – Delhi – Gurgaon The last day of any ride is surely the sad one but at BOP no ride days are sad days and we make sure that we enjoy each day to the fullest…this day was no different…we had another sumptuous breakfast at Kunwar Jis home…hot stuffed Paranthas, Raita & Sewain ki Kheer. We all got stuffed to the brim and were in no mood to ride after that than to just sleep our heart out. We finally started at 12 PM from his home for our return ride…the heat was getting on to us and we decided to make the customary beer pit-stop…another great BBB session…we all took our chairs to a nearby Sugarcane field and had beer there with some local snacks which we bought from a roadside vendor…beer at a lounge bar is one thing but beer in the open fields is one experience which everybody must indulge in…I am sure nobody would be left disappointed after that… External image The ride after this stop was filled heat, dust & crammed roads till we joined the NH-1 at Shahbad, where atleast we could zip at 80-90 kmph and also didnt feel the heat much due to the open roads… We kept riding on till Panipat and then stopped for a very late lunch at 6 PM at a Highway Dhaba…the Dhaba had no visitors till we entered…after seeing 6 bikes parked, soon the place was brimming of people…and then we watched a riding spectacle…1 bike came and stopped and when the pillion removed her helmet we were all shocked beyond wits…the pillion was a 60-something aunty and the rider was of the same age as well…true examples of living life in a way which is generally called rebellious by the general population…both of them were truly inspirational and proved that age is no barrier for the adventurous. The Ride ended with a Beer-Stop at Gurgaon where we celebrated the end of another BOP Bike Ride…no major mishaps and no change of plans…the hot weather played a dampener but as true bikers we didnt let it come in our way and had a blast nonetheless…the courtesy extended to us hungry bikers at Kunwar Jis home was a true pleasure indeed…thanks a ton to his mother who laid out the delicacies for us… The Pics of the Ride: 1. Tomar: 2. Che: 3. Manji. The Lion-Roar Video: Information about Nahan: 1. 2. 3. 4. Che would be back on the road again… Till then ride safe & have safe sex… Hasta la Victoria Siempre….
